About us

Merton Friends of the Earth is a community group made up of volunteers working towards a greener, fairer planet. As part of the Friends of the Earth network, we campaign for change not only locally but also nationally and internationally.

What we do

As a Friends of the Earth local group, we strive to protect the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We collaborate with other groups in the London Borough of Merton and beyond for a clean, green neighbourhood, and we also support Friends of the Earth’s national and international campaigns.

From organising tree planting events to lobbying our local councillors and MPs, we campaign and develop projects on a range of issues to help tackle the climate and ecological crisis.

How we work

We welcome anyone who lives in Merton or the surrounding areas.

We keep in touch via our mailing list, WhatsApp group and Slack workspace. If you would like to join any of these, please contact us, or you can sign up to our mailing list directly below.

We also have regular monthly meetings, which take place every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7pm.

What we’re part of

As a member of the Friends of the Earth family, we’re one of hundreds of community groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, working for change in our local areas and coming together to support national campaigns. And we’re also part of the Friends of the Earth global network, with over 2 million members and supporters across 74 countries.
