Tree consultation response

On 28 February 2022, we submitted our response to Merton Council’s consultation on its proposed Tree Management Strategy for Council-Owned Trees. We welcomed this consultation as a constructive step at the local level towards increasing tree cover, which would help draw down carbon emissions, improve air quality, prevent flooding, support biodiversity and promote mental and physical wellbeing.

Our comments are based on extensive discussions with the Merton Tree Wardens Group, for whose expertise we are very grateful.
